The office of Federal Student Aid provides grants, loans, and work-study funds for college or career school. “Federal Student Aid is responsible for managing the student financial assistance programs authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. These programs provide grants, loans, and work-study funds to students attending college or career school.”
Grants & Scholarships
Grants and scholarships are considered “gifted aid”. Usually, grants and scholarships do not have to be paid back. Grants tend to be awarded on needs based. Scholarships are usually awarded on merit. To find out more about grants and scholarships go to https://studentaid.gov/
Loans
Loans are borrowed money that needs to be paid back usually with interest. Loans can be private, such as through a bank or other financial institution, or they can be public, federal government loans. To find out more about loans go https://studentaid.gov/
