Cancer Rehabilitation Series - 37 CEUs

The cancer rehabilitation series will provide therapists with a comprehensive understanding of rehabilitation as related to head, neck, breast, lung and gynecological cancers. Cancer rehabilitation focuses on identifying the secondary effects that can occur after chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Therapists will learn valuable techniques to address pain, swelling, weakness, and range of motion deficits.  Upon completion of the series, the therapist will demonstrate competence providing treatment and creating a specialized plan of care that considers past, current and future medical interventions.

Foundations in Cancer Rehabilitation - 7 CEUs

The foundations in cancer rehabilitation online class overviews the medical treatments and potential side effects of head, neck, lung, and gynecological cancers. The course gives a basic understanding of the journey of a cancer patient that begins when the cancer diagnosis is received . The topics covered will properly prepare the therapist to understand and more effectively treat the cancer patient.

Cancer Rehabilitation Level 1 - 15 CEUs

Part 1 of this 3 part series focuses on the lymphatic system, manual lymphatic drainage, compression alternatives with an introduction to the integrated manual techniques used to treat the cancer patient. Review of physical side effects with medical cancer treatment, assessment of the cancer patient and skills test will be incorporated.

Cancer Rehabilitation Level 2 - 15 CEUs

Part 2 of this 3 part series focuses on integrated manual therapies, lab work, and therapeutic exercises specific for the cancer patient. Review of physical side effects with medical cancer treatment, assessment of the cancer patient and skills test will be incorporated.

Cancer Rehabilitation Level 3

This class consists of two days of in person lab sessions working with real patents undergoing treatments for cancer related pain, lymphedema, weakness, fatigue and range of motion deficits. Therapists are eligible to apply for this once they have completed cancer rehabilitation 1 and 2.
